The pension funds were apparently active in the second session. If interested, go to the Yahoo World Markets link and go to the 1 day chart. You will note the parabolic spikes at the beginning of the session and later in the second session. These spikes are typically
representative of pension fund futures buying.

The foregoing may be of some use with respect to your options analysis.
