What I don't understand is that when I had a telephone based ISP (I had 2 different ones), I didn't have this problem. It wasn't as fast as when my cable modem was ripping, but it was never as slow as 15-30 seconds on average to load a page

1. I know exactly how you feel, as I've had the identical experience.

2. Goodnet (my provider) advises that it has a "peering" agreement with Sprintlink, meaning that it selects this backbone route over others. (Perhaps my 28.8 ISP used a different route on the backbone). Whatever the case, I see we both may be having Sprintlink problems.

3. However, I'm told that, ultimately, we have to come into SI through the route it "broadcasts." I question how good that route is. Often, when SI is at its slowest, I can hit many other sites in a snap, such as the YHOO message board. So, is it SI or is it Sprintlink? I'm beginning to think we'll never know.

Best,
Gary Korn
