Pirate,

I'm very happy with Brown too. It's only been not quite a month yet, but I do have a lot of trades under my belt with them. The internet site hasn't been down since I started with them, but it's comforting to know that there are 16 (I think) 800 numbers to reach them at when that happens, and at the same commission rate. When I have called they have been very fast and efficient on the phone.

Like you I've been impressed with the speed of execution, but I'm also impressed with the price improvement I've often been able to get when I'm willing to risk attempting it. Sometimes I'll put a limit order in at the ask to buy or at the bid to sell instead of a market order, just to see if they'll get me a better price. Sometimes they do.

See ya,
Esteban

Their web site is a little "thin", doesn't have all the bells and whistles of the "other" cute web sites, but it gets the job done which is quick order entry and execution.

I prefer no bells and whistles, just streamlined trading efficiency will suit me fine. But in the interest of trading efficiency, I'd sure like to see a "Daily Activity" page instead of separate page for open orders, another for executions, and further links for canceling. Datek's daily activity shows all orders for the day and their status, executions in bold. And you can cancel right from this page. It sure eliminates confusion. Today, I thought I had been filled on two orders, but I was mistakenly looking at the open orders page instead of the executions page.

I hope you are listening, Brown.
