I just finished reading the Embassy pages and FAQ. And, I want to congratulate Peter and Steven (and the Wave team) for devising and orchestrating such a brilliant plan.

This is the cat's meow, the real deal, best thing since sliced-bread, etc.

E-Commerce just grew up overnight...in a big, big way!!!

Great job guys!

Everyone: if you can tear your eyes away from the ticker this morning, I strongly recommend taking some time to read the Embassy FAQ page (http://www.wave.com/embassy/faqs.html). It's quite long, filled with answers to all the questions we're going to be having about the nature of this technology. A lot of it is fairly technical -- and we're going to be wanting to make sense of the nuts and the bolts as we go forward. There's an emphasis on the open architecture aspect of the system, and a fair amount of detail about how the Wave system and HP's VerSecure system work together. Comment on encryption and export possibilities. The word "worldwide" appears frequently. Comments also on WAVX's subsidizing the cost of the system (oh, well) and revenue sharing. Following are a coupld of selections. On the Embassy system and mass media:

<<It is anticipated that the trusted client system provided by the EMBASSY E-Commerce System will be a very strategic technology for the mass media industry which can be incorporated into cable modems, residential gateways, set top boxes, and even cell phones for transactions within the trusted-client. The mass media industry is evolving quickly. However, the PC industry already has both the means for volume deployment of this technology with tens of millions of units being shipped each year. They also have the "killer" application in the EMBASSY for the content and software industry which are desperately seeking a new distribution and rental model for their products. EMBASSY is a platform with compelling benefits for both the PC/computing industry as well as the entertainment and mass media industries.>>

Even cell phones. You've got to like that. And here's a section on what's up with IBM:

<<Wave Systems and IBM are continuing to work together under the terms of the original agreement. Over the past months IBM has provided significant input and requirements to Wave Systems regarding the design of the EMBASSY platform. IBM has chosen not to make any specific product announcements at this time. In addition, Wave Systems is pursuing additional relationships with a number of areas within IBM. >>

Finally, a request -- I'm not going to be able to listen to the conference call, which is really frustrating. Would someone who can listen keep some detailed notes and post them here? That would be very very helpful to all of us who can't listen. Thanks!
