Luc, in part due to your persistence, I waited until the close yesterday to decide whether or not to toss the gold. Well, since it had a sunny afternoon and a decent close on support, I held on and it's looking quite good this morning. Thanks again for your input. As you know, I agree with your views, but it's the timing that is so difficult to predict, and yet it often determines whether you win or lose.

For those who are making decisions on TA, I think it is wiser to base your analysis on the xau and not on individual shares. The xau gives better signals because of the smoothing effect of looking at an entire sector, and afterall, if the xau rises so shall your shares rise. As for today, a close above xau 70 would be a buy signal imo.

I think it's also good to compare the individual shares with the xau and pick those with the greatest relative strength. Since that press release that I ignored, NEM has been very weak and it seems quite risky right now. On the opposite end of the spectrum, PDG is showing a lot of strength and really didn't fall that much.

One of these days the broader market is going to close negative and gold is going to begin attracting safe haven money again. Look at the way the stock market has performed over the last three weeks - it's too good to be true.

Puchased ASL this morning. Will add more under 8, if it gets there.
