Given that the major shorts, did not need to purchase to cover, (they got more than enough shares upon conversion), I don't think the move has much to do with short covering. Remember that as a low priced stock the percentage change does not mean as much. Also are 500,000 traded when the stock is at $2 the same as 500,000 when the stock is at $6? Also many biotechs are moving.

So, I really don't know what the move and the volume mean.

Probably some of this increase in volume and price has to
do with McCamant's visit on Squawk Box yesterday.
He pushed XOMA and mentioned three keys items investors love to here...
cheap stock to invest in, Phase III about to end, and
XOMA might be a buyout candidate.

If these are new investors, that is good, but if they are
day traders they will probably leave when we hit $3
(nearly 50% increase from purchase price)....we will find
out in the next couple days.
