But, if they do a 3 for1 split! For the naive it will look like a bargin @$43ps.

James, let's see:
Shares authorized, 300 million shares
Shares issued and outstanding; as of Jun/98, 50 million shares
Shares issued and outstanding, as of Oct/98, 53 to 60 million shares(due to the Junglee/Plantell, and all related options, and insiders/employees options)
3 for 1 split = 180 million shares, issued and outstanding as of Oct/98. Amzn's stock price will be doomed!

That would be great, wouldn't it? A 3-1 split would be like putting grease on the rails while the 500 ton train is losing steam at the top of the hill (or Pike's Peak)!
