Valuing money over personal freedom... I really don't know how you can make a distinction between the two! You assert that the RR is "controlling"... perhaps... but I think one of the most "controlling" things that politicians can do to me is raise my taxes! I either pay it, go to jail, or move out of the country.

No, you're way off. What has the republican party FORCED you to do? Or not do? What has the RR FORCED you to do? Or not do? Nothing! Yes, they urge and encourage. But you and I do not have to obey. Otoh, democrats control you by stealing your money, bribing constituencies for votes, regulating you to death, and restricting what you eat, drink or smoke. They think they know how to spend your money better than you do. They destroy schools and job competence with laws that discourage achievement.
