Rick I think I will get into SIII but near $2. I'm too stingy now <g>. Apart from that I do like valuation plays - PSR valuation especially, You know <G>. I know about the exponential patents bought by S3 but I think that either a takeover or license stream is unlikely to hit the market before next year. Anyway, what I want to see is the successor of the Savage 3D to be announced.. This is no news to me, in fact it's 2 weeks old approx. In 3D graphics, 2 other companies shouldn't be overlooked: look at Number Nine Grafix NINE - very risky but not without a vision. Beware that book value is negative, so don't be surprised to see some changes in capital structure in terms of dilution. Less risky but equally good is TDDDF (3D Labs). Their Permedia 3 will be the FASTEST grafcard when it ships in December this year. They WILL wipe away competition not only in games but also in OpenGL under Windows NT. This is the first time the "game 3D segment" will reach out for the more serious end of the market. But beware they will announce their September quarterly loss first of all, so I would wait before getting in-- There's a post-Chapter 11 I'm watching - but from afar it's GUCO, want to see next 2 quarters financials before getting in. They got excellent management - formerly at Krogers (KR). Watch them doing their job. Also watch AURL. I do like their product - it's excellent from an engineering standpoint - I mean the Vortex 2 88b30, far better than anything ESST has to offer. Could pay off to watch Diamond and Turtle Beach sales levels for their Vortex2 based PCI audio cards... DPMI, PLAB, MASK - I do like the sector. It's precyclic to semi equipement. Sorry don't know about the hurricane. All I know is that MASK is about to SIGNIFICANTLY improve market share. I like their business model - compare them to the generic pharmaceuticals industry. Let the big boys spend R&D $$$, we invest in capacity <g>. TLTN, COMS also partly PAIR - I do like this sector. Remarkable is earnings stability at TLTN. Now they got a full-sales channel, they can leverage new product offerings thru it. COMS will become a heavyweight in cable modems. Good hedge for any ADSL portfolio. COHR should have some very favourable FDA clearings quite soon, new products in medical and comm unit. Got potential to double IMHO. Look at telecom also, great sector. Especially look at STRX and PWAV. Both are compelling buys right now. Later down the road, STGC could be a nice company, when they have digested their recent capital expenditure. best regards CROSSY
