but how big will that pie be? if cost cutting at the big players manages to squeeze margins even with them, what hope does WSTL have to compete?

i prefer not to take the pollyanna path...WSTL can either compete or it cant. if they cant, which i think is the case, then they need to move to something else. its just that simple. THAT is another hallmark of good management.
