David - we're talking buy and hold here. My reasoning (2002) is as follows: the baby boomers are going to be converting to cash in the next 5-10 years. (I'm one of them.)

We can't afford to lose our money so will be less likely to take chances in the market. Once the boomers pull out there speculative dollars, the market's gonna wobble for awhile.
