People seem to be buying the semi's and semi equip stocks on the hope that things have bottomed - ie, everyone is trying to pick the bottom. When everyone realizes that the business conditions for these stocks has not improved, they will dump again. The traders are in control of these issues and the prices will experience short-term ups and downs depending on the mood of the day. I get worried when the chairman of the FED, says he has not seen conditions like we have today in his entire lifetime. I read that as even Mr. Greenspan doesn't know where we are going. If that is the case, how can anyone else know? We are in unchartered waters and the world just may see something that nobody thought would ever happen again - a deflationary depression. The recent rate cuts by the FED indicate that they are going to do everything in their power to prevent it, but it may be out of their control.

Because the FED is in this easy money mode, I think the market will have an upward bias over the next few months, as everyone will have hope that things will be alright. However, look out below if we get 2 or 3 more cuts and the world conditions don't improve.

Just one man's opinion.
