I may have missed the discussion, but does anyone think that hedge fund activity is impacting the stock price? I refer to the fact that MRVC has $100M in outstanding debentures that are not callable in the first 3 years: Message 5508166 While researching the issue of convertible preferred stocks and their impact on stock prices I came across this link explaining strategies that hedge funds use to lock in profits with convertible debentures: atlasconvertiblefunds.com Having been long MRVC stock for about 2 years now, it strikes me that the stock has been in a similar situation, under similar pricing pressure with large fluctuation in the short position. I am not a financial expert and would appreciate other opinions on this. There have been some previous posts about this: techstocks.com The above link makes the mechanism a little clearer.
