Looking at a very relevant example to a Bob Brinker fan if someone sold covered calls a bit out of the money on a position taken in NVLS around 10/8 I would guess depending on the option you would have been taken out early and missed most of a huge gain. Most of the time I buy individual stocks especially tech or biotech I'm looking for the possibility of huge and hopefully rapid gain. While that usually won't occur, when it finally does for a stock I'm not really looking forward to giving up my gain because I wanted a conservative dribble of money coming in. I haven't looked closely at the option prices lately so maybe my assumption is wrong
