As part of an article about the relative over-valuation of certain "big
name" stocks, The Napeague Letter applied certain value-analysis
tools to a group of stocks which had been identified as "Pillars of
NASDAQ Bull Market" in a Wall Street Journal article on October 6th.

One of the stocks that was evaluated was Dell Computer -
(NASDAQ:DELL).

She said she made 1.5M in Dell then lost it all right away.
Yikes! That is scary! I hope she did not lose her principal or at least has a strong disposition.

TD,

I am very bullish on DELL and I won't buy puts on issues like DELL, CSCO, & MSFT. Sure I do buy calls when the issues are beaten down in big ways. But I mainly sell naked puts to reap in the gains. If you look back at my previous posts, I sold about 200 contracts of various DELL naked puts on the day that DELL dipped to 40 9/16 and I correctly called that a near term bottom. So far I have closed about 75% of those contracts and have made some very nice gains. I guess that DELL will at least test 69 1/4 either before or after its earnings release. If DELL can make $0.30 (I will bet on 0.29), then I expect DELL to test 75 in the near term.

I have never bought DELL puts before. Betting against DELL & MSFT are losers' game and I am not willing to join the ranks of losers. However, anytime I see the issue going against my position because the market turns turmoil, I will short against my box to hedge my position (usually for no longer than several days). I am definitely not the person to ask if you want to make $$$ by shorting stocks. I am only good (actually very very good) at making $$$ on the long side.

good luck,
larry!
