Gauntlet Firewall, widely respected as the industry's most secure firewall, beat out over 400 entries, and was the only network security product named as a finalist in the Network Security and Performance category. Once all the details of that session have been cleared by the proxy, however, subsequent data packets can proceed directly through the much faster network layer. While the performance benefits of Adaptive Proxy firewalls will vary by protocol, initial benchmark tests have demonstrated tenfold speed improvements with zero security compromise.
