Michael - Re: Intel and Katmai

I think Intel is going to make the Katmai a Premier Launch Vehicle in early 1999.

The roll out of the Katmai, as a new Pentium II (or II+ or III) will serve to differentiate the Katma from the AMD's incompatible K6-2.

The new Katmai capabilities and the LACK of Katmai in the K6-2 will be used as a strategic thrust by Intel to promote its CPUs and capabilities - at the expense of the inferior K6-2.

If you want to be "compatible", you will need INTEL KATMAI INSIDE.
