Jim, agree on the forecasted rate cut coming next month. However,
I do not believe that this cut isn't already priced into the market.
If he doesn't cut, looks bad. If he does, it's ho-hum. The only way he
can jump start again is to cut 50 basis pts, which I don't think he'll do. Another thing is he is directly affecting the purchasing power
of those that buy overseas and accelerating the non-employment status of those that work for those companies. While big multinationals get
a nice boost in their currency exchange rates on products sold overseas, they are selling less as more country's economic problems
are causing cutbacks on exports. Greenspan will protect the bond market at the expense of the American worker. I wonder why Clinton
doesn't care? Oh, I forgot he's a "lame duck".
