I shorted EBAY as well through National Discount Brokerage (NDB) on Monday and covered today.

Hank, I just finished talking to a friend/broker and that's what he told me:

Almost in all cases, shares are only permitted to be shorted "30 days" after IPO. e-bay's IPO was on Sept. 23, 98.

Therefore, Started this past Monday, Oct 26, shorting e-bay is possible.
