Well, Windows is so pathetic I wasn't even considering their code. Solaris will be The OS within 5 yr.s as far as I'm concerned. It's also being developed to incorporate digital video in a high-bandwidth format. I.e., when the 75 ohm cables convert to all-digital traffic in 2005 Solaris will have video viewing built right into it so we'll be watching high-definition tv directly from our pcs. Of course its predicated upon a national hfc or fibre optic network but as you can see by the pr they're already developing it for that. With hybrid cable modems and lots of 75 ohm cable the ingredients are already present.

The embedded video code gives Sunw and Solaris a lock on the future "television" as well as computing.

-Andrew.
