You are giving the street too much credit. With small tech companies like Visio, I do not think the analysts covering them are particularly "in the know."

Usually, there is one good analyst, who really knows the company. The rest are generally sheep trailing this analyst and the general market category.

So, I was off by $.01, but oh well. The point is, as I said, there is nothing materially in the current economic climate that is hurting Visio's business significantly. They are growing still at 50+% a year, and will likely grow 40%+ for the forseeable future.

2.5 million seats for Visio can easily turn into 10 million over the next 5 years. And that doesn't even cover new products!

You assume people are "expecting" a bad conference call, just like they were "expecting" bad earnings. But that is extrapolation from a weak share price. The fact is, Visio has just been labeled "small, enterprise software company" and just sold widely to "lock in gains" and "flight to safety" and other such garbage.
