What did they deliver? I am confused. What was the return on invested capital? When will they turn a profit? What is their "tangible" book value?

AMZN lost less than expected probably because revenues were less than expected.

This is the company that takes a loss on every sale, but makes up for it in volume.

That's just a hip shot without looking at the SEC filing.

At any rate, take the big earnings news with a grain of salt. The reason Bezo is hyping the 'road to profitability' is that profitable companies like EBAY and YHOO are making AMZN look bad.
