Yes, I bought a couple of books from them. I paid too much apparently.

While I was digging around there -- I wrote a review for a book that I had at home. The editors sent me a brand new copy of the latest edition of the book I reviewed and asked if I would write something for the new edition.

Unfortunately, the new edition was trash -- a new author conspired with the original author to ruin the book.

Okay, okay, I admit I've bought 4 books through them...
but I've never touched the stock! Honest!

Actually, I prefer the smell of a good bookstore and
have purchased over ten times as many books that way
versus Zon.con.<g>

Yeah, I bought some hard to find technology books from them once. I got them quickly. They provided me a great service. I would have never found them in the one horse town I live in. However, I don't like the stock. Just a tad pricey for me.

I've bought several books from Amazon. Most recent a 1979 economics book that is a classic (on resource econ.). I'd borrowed it from our library but eventually they recalled it. It's pretty good for people at the other end of the World if you are prepared to wait for shipping or spend a lot on shipping.

IMO Amazon has the chance to be around much longer than those other Internuts like Yahoo.

What Bezos is talking about I suppose is short-term vs. long-term.

Yeah. Math and physics books I can't find in local stores.
They were good about letting me know how long it would take
to ship, and shipping when they said they would.
