DIS acquire GNET? You're kidding, right? Or, do you mean just the Go2Net name? Hardly seems worth the effort or expense.

REPOST: 3 GO PORTALS - BRAND NAME RECOGNITION - DISNEY, GNET, & GOTO

In case you didn't realize it yet the new GO PORTAL will
be rolled out by Infoseek and Disney in a few days called
"GO.COM" @ go.com

There is GOTO.COM Portal @ goto.com

& our beloved Go2net @ go2net.com

The latter 2 pose a problem for Disney because they interfere with the "GO.COM" brand name. But is it a problem or really an opportunity for Disney? I think that both Go2Net & GOTO.com are very strong acquisition or investment capital opportunities for Disney.

The "GO SYNERGY" is already in place so it makes a little more sense than the Lycos acquisition of Hotbot.
Also take in cosideration what Altavista did to preserve it's BRAND IDENTITY ... it paid 3 Million Dollars for it
news.com ...what you have to understand is that Altavista already had a site in place @ altavista.digital.com but some dude registered altavista.com for $70 and turned that $70 into 3 Million
just because of the name!

If you can believe this, there is another site called Get2Net, which plays off the Go2Net, Inc name. This should all help with the branding of our beloved Go2Net, Inc!
