Yes, for sure, with respect to HK . HKMA (Hong Kong Monetary Authority) is the admitted owner of billions of dollars of stock. The intervention(s) were primarily the result of HKMA's defence of HK's currency and market from hedge fund "attack." Hedge funds are truly dirty words in HK.

As an aside, the South China Morning Post is a newspaper helpful to occasionally read fo those interested in Asia (including China). I believe the link is scmp.com .
