Z,

I have a question. You sound like an expert. Wouldn't a low dot pitch number, say 25, render more clarity on larger or for any monitor for that matter?

Everything has helped a little, especially lowering the resolution. I'm surprised this is really necessary tho because 1280x1024 is said to be the recommended resolution for 19" monitors from the ads and articles I've read. But I've also noticed that responders here are running 21" screens at this resolution, and I'd have thought that monitors that large would be run at 1600x1200. It is for a fact much easier to read this larger text....and I'd recommend progressive bifocals for the task too, as mine are great for reading the screen or the newspaper(g).
