Yes, I should have said something more along the lines of, "Because It Has Seemed Often By Many To Be a Good Idea, That Is, A Useful Idea, Helpful or Profitable or Advantaging or A Way Of Explaining Lots and Lots of Puzzling Things Like Lightning and Thunder and Timely Rain, or a Comforting, Magical- Thinking Way of Imagining Oneself Affiliated In This Frightening World In Which We All Die With A REALLY Strong Being Who Makes It All Better-- Which Is Not Of Course At All To Say That It Is True." I shortened it. To me it seems silly. And more to the point, irrelevant to all I value. Sorry. There is a powerful nation in the palm of my hand that agrees with me. This nation is helpful to me in countless ways, in fact. And when I contemplate it, you can imagine how really good it makes me feel. What is your attitude toward the nation in my hand?
