Dennis,
HI!!! The daily volume has been stunning at times...remember though that there were some days where Dell was at 98 million...( I think it was close or not even over 100 million....I remember Patrick and I talking about this)...so with all the crazy volatility the shares traded were exceptionally high...IMO affecting the overall daily volume average...what is Dell's normal...well, interesting thought?? IMO it is anyone's guess as to what it would be...if perhaps it was a normal situation of market trading...recently normal is obsolete...

Best, Kemble

Volume Does the split make a diff.

After the first couple of splits the volume went up. The stock was noticed and there was more to trade. After the last couple the listings for average volume are doubled after the split but the actual volume does not double. More is being held. I think the number of short term traders does not double after a split and they tend to trade roughly the same volume as they did before the split.
Of course on really big days it can get Really Big.
