Walt, My reaction was that the numbers were good, not great, but Ted alluded to a very strong possibility of an acquisition before the end of the year. I believe this news would help, in addition to "easier" comparisons coming up in the next year. The elimination of the tax benefits realized in 1997 will make it easier for investors to compare EPS from the comparable quarters. I thought Joe Weiderman (the COO) did an excellent job during the conference call to separate the differences in the two quarters (tax benefit, payment of preferred dividends)and to focus on EBITDA/share for a "truer" comparison. Anyway, I believe it is only a matter of time before investors begin to notice this company.
