Rather, I expect the earnings won't be significant enough to get the stock out of the base. That's all I need to expect.

I don't want to be pedantic about this; I just want to try and understand exactly what you're saying. Would you consider it realistic for ODIS to report earnings of 20 cents next year, but for that to be "not significant enough to get the stock out of the base"?

I would be inclined to agree that, in a bearish market, ODIS could still trade around $4 with 1999 earnings of 20 cents a share. I suspect our expectations about ODIS earnings may not be very far apart. Perhaps you're more bearish than I am about the global economy.

Would you care to put a numerical range on where you think 1999 earnings will be? I would say 20-25 cents. I'm not trying to play games about this, but I think I would understand your view better if you could give me a "seat of the pants" guessimate for 1999 earnings.
