matty: If you want to be accurate in your writings as you posted, there are a few things that you should think about. The boards are very different than a conversaton. In a conversation, people can interrupt for a clarification of something. On the boards one cannot. So you must always try to "spell" everything out as clearly as you can in the post. Just a simple example: You posted that you talked to tonto. Was this talked to tonto on the phone, or was this "talked" to tonto via PM, or email. See the difference? Another thing you should be aware of, is when you post things concerning certain issues, You are in no way even remotely clever/smart in this area. Therefore you should always preface your statements with an "IMO", or a "JMO". I changed my nick to "Just My Opinion", because I got tired of putting those phrases in my posts every time I was posting, and there were times when I simply forgot. I am not sure, but I believe that now, I have solved the problem, or at least that is what the "Just My Opinion" nick was INTENDED to do. Now it is on EVERY post I make...automatically. As far as you saying that Mike sent a post to tonto (or whoever) for them to post for him being OKAY.. I believe that that is 100% incorrect. I believe that It is NOT okay, UNLESS he (Mike or ANY broker) conforms to the nasd requirements about postings on the internet. (compliance dept.) In addition tonto or whoever, now is part of the "deal" if anything is wrong, I think. I think t comes under the umbrella of "controlling parties". You can look all of this up at the nasd site about "guidelines for internet postings" at the nasd site. Another thing you should be aware of is libel. Most people just ignore the rantings of the posters since it is all a big joke and a lot of fun, especialy when you make someone look stupid, and get in a real funny insult. However every once in a while people go to far, and things become a little dicey. The matter with TC's wife verged on this, I think. (and that is partly why I was so adamant about s martin referencing the post where he claimed I attacked TC's wife) Now people that are stupid will say, "go ahead and sue", not realizing that there are some people that WILL do exactly that. You see, it may not be important to the initiator of the lawsuit if he wins or loses. The recipient has to pay EITHER way. So he loses NO MATTER WHAT! And the person who initiated the lawsuit gets satisfaction NO MATTER WHAT! Not a flame..just some things to think about.
