Ken,

There are a bunch of people on this thread who are better organized than I and have complete lists of great books. I think Funk is one who has this. Maybe somebody will post the lists if they see this.

The books I have liked the best are Electronic Day Trader, The Underground Level 2 Daytraders Handbook, New Market Wizards. I am planning to buy Market Wizards. These two books have interviews with amazingly successful traders and it is a trip to see how they operate.

Other books on my desk waiting to be read: Trading for A Living by Elder, The Visual Investor by Murphy, The Day Trader's Manual by Eng.

Other books on my list to buy: Street Smarts, by Raschke & Connors, Reminiscences of a Stock Operater, The Disciplined Trader. These have been highly recommended by traders I respect.

If you go to Amazon.com and search for these books, you'll see lots of cross-references for other books. I spent $300 on my first bundle of books. Well worth it, a gold mine of information, tips, tricks and insights. Some of this stuff is more theoretical, like how to develop strategy. Some is technical, like Underground Level 2, which is one of the best for learning how to use L2. Electronic Day Trader had a few tricks I have used many times.

Even if you don't trade the way the pros do, it is really helpful to see what they are up to so you can figure it into your own strategy.

I would strongly recommend reading all of these books before taking any course or paying for any expensive consulting services. You can figure it all out for yourself with the books. If not, you are probably not meant to be a trader in the first place.

Good luck with your trading!

Rick
