OTOT
Linux is a very good OS and it's basically free

I coulda swore I just told you that.

You are correct in respect to the lack of applications, but I think that as more people migrate to Linux, the more (and better) apps will become more available. One cannot buy a box from a retail store, but they are available over the internet. And since the PC sales business model seems to be moving to Linux (i.e. DELL), why would they wanna be in a retail store? But I will credit you the fact that it is not a MSFT killer for the home (yet), but it is young and has lots of programmers out there. Let's wait a few years and when someone writes a (good) M$FT Windows emulator, it could prove to the world that it is a serious OS that deserves attention. Any other questions/comments should be posted to the Linux thread. I would rather not get more off topic on this thread...

*ot*

>>Can end users buy Linux loaded PC in Walmart or Office Depot, configured ?<<

Well, I wonder why some of BOEING's largest software development
teams trashed NT, and substituted Linux OS to get some
of their major projects done on time for a change.

Nothing against NT. I own MSFT, and think it's a great
company, but nobody owns technology. Not even Bill Gates.

btw...Never tried " King Quest series". Is it fun?
