The overall mkt will be held up until the end of Oct because that is the end of the mutual fund year. The managers need to pump up returns as much as possible before they close the books for the year and have their performance rated - and consequently their pay determined.

Once they stop pouring money into the market to inflate this rebound, we should see a decent amount of profit taking from this latest 1000 point Dow rally and 20%+ bounce in the Nasdaq.

I think we'll see a decent exit from AMZN as well. It will show up on their year end statements and they will look like they have played the latest internet craze, but the buy side analysts will see through all the smoke screens AMZN mgmt puts out and all the crap that those sell side analysts try to shovel. When they stop buying and actually start selling it should get interesting.

Just my opinion though.

Bob

I agree . . . the bull is running in the streets on this one for a while. I believe BT has a 12 month target of 175. This stock and the analysts recommendations and targets are highly speculative from a fundamental standpoint, but much less so from a momentum standpoint. If shorts start to cover, this stock could have a dramatic run. Otherwise, I expect it to spend some time under the 130-140 level before mounting a break-out. That may not happen until the 1st quarter of next year - but, as we have seen in the past, the large amount of shorted shares can create tremendous volatility and become bear's own undoing.
