Thanks for the prompt response, I seldom spend more than a few minutes on SI in the morning so I am late responding. I tried a link the WSJ archive, but it did not work.

The article covered the about-face in the turbine business since last summer, Siemens purchase of the Westinghouse turbine business was very well timed. The future must be with smaller power stations running on natural gas; this is environmentally acceptable and reduces all the loss in transmission. Without knowing anything about POWL I wondered if their equipment fit the market shift. Thanks for your thoughts.

On the De Beers fall in price I noticed it made the front page of the London Financial Times yesterday (10/29/987):

The diamond industry is facing its biggest challenge in 20 years, speakers at thhe third Financial Times annual diamond conference in Antwerp said. A collapse in demand in southeast Asia and turmoil in financial markets have forced De Beers to reduce supply to dealers, but their price is still falling ...Page 28
