I think Homer Simpson makes a great Intel rep, reminiscent of the greats:

"Oops, the Malaysian factory burnt down. DOH!"

PB - Re: ' AMD needs current and future support for 3D-NOW from the
software vendors. "

So far, AMD has only got a few game companies to use the 3DNOW as well as a few graphics card companies to include drivers for 3DNOW - + Direct X 6.

That is a meager accomplishment.

Re: "Intel seems to be able to piss off enough PC customers for at least one, probably more, AMD sized (and growing) competitors to exist."

Intel has exceptionally good relationships with all their PC customers.

Look at all the joint developments that Intel has with IBM, Compaq and HP.

If you don't know of these, I suggest you do some "digging".
