I admire those who shorted UTEK in the $20's and covered at $13. However, I will reserve my judgement on those who shorted in the $20's and are still short.

true. If they missed when under $15, then I would not call them smart, but greedy and "late to the party". I do not think we will see $15 again, but if we do, I will use some of my tax-loss shares I sold at 18 (from $28) to get more shares.

I shorted the day before earnings a little over $19. I know somebody that works for one of their suppliers that mentioned they were hurting pretty bad (not insider info). Based on UTEK's run into earnings, my friends comments, and the Semiconductor Equipment numbers for September, I gave it a crack. I have to admit, the stocks holding up pretty well, but I think a lot has to do with the general market recovery. The recovery in the sector is going to take a lot longer than people think...The numbers for September were still heading the wrong way. When the sector really turns around the ratios will tell you first. I think a lot of momentum guys jumped into the sector the past few weeks. It will be interesting to see what happens when they leave. UTEK has bounced off $17 1/4 three times since earnings. In my opinion if it breaks below $17 1/4 its gone (just my gut feel). Having said all that I won't fight the ticker. If it turns, I'm out. I doing to well most every where else to mess around with this one. Best of Luck.
