>>But the fairly obvious connection between Helms, Faircloth, their home state judge, and the Starr appointment is just rumor and innuendo.

No need to resort to the looney Left-wing conspiracy theories. Just do a little research and you will find that Clinton WH Counsel Abner Mikva applauded the appointment of his friend and former colleague on the DC Circuit Court of Appeals, Judge Starr. Remember Starr had just gotten great plaudits for his handling of the Packwood diaries.

Only when Starr started getting results did you see the WH defamation campaign build to destroy Starr. That's classic Clintonian practice when they are threatened with exposure by the truth.

And as we know, if the Clintons and cronies deny it, it usually proves true.

>Rumor and innuendo only goes in one direction, just like the famous leftist ad hominem.<

Again, sane individuals employ the ad hominem, but almost exclusively when dealing with leftists or non-leftists who experience temporary leftist dipswitchery. It is certifiable fact that one must handle the leftist in "the old way"--- beating him into submission so as to give him at least the remote opportunity to acquire sanity. Since the ad hominem is about the only legal manner in which to do this, sane individuals employ it against leftists. It is impossible to calmly reason with people who virtually beg to be lied to for months and months on end, and who then claim to respect such a liar:

>For the millionth time, I dont think lying about the affair he had with a legal adult is any big deal. In fact, in some ways, I respect him for it.<
(The words of an infamous leftist in these parts)

So while it is incontrovertible fact that the ad hominem technique itself is leftist in origin, sane individuals realize they have no other choice but to use it when dealing with leftists. (vbg)
