My point was that many institutions use multiple market makers when they are taking or selling a position. If a large block of money comes into a stock ie more sellers than buyers the stock is under accumulation and the price usually breaks out. if there is continued volume over a period of time then the amount of money required to buy 30-40 million shares of a 20 stock is substantial. My comment was to suggest the lack of large block buying does not mean that institutional money is not coming in. If the trend volume and price accumulation break out an upward trend is established. If you have time tell me the names of a few mid to large cap stocks that break to the upside on 4 or more times normal daily volume over a period of several days that does not have significant instituional money inflow.
