Andy, I went into Yahoo and brought up THQI as I do everyday and noted (3) hits in a row.
Oct. 22 6:13PM "CEO Brian Farrell expects company to beat last years Q4 EPS of $0.56."
Oct. 23 2:12PM "THQ, Inc. post $0.21 vs $0.13 3Q EPS."
Oct. 23 6:25PM "CEO Brian Farrell said he expects the company to meet or beat last years Q4 EPS of $0.56."

These announcements are probably on other venues also. I humbly noted the time increments were 24 hours and 12 minutes; but basically 1 day.

I like the company and fully expect it to outperform the average in its sector. My comment was perhaps too narrow in focus and perhaps I don't see the big picture here.

Regards,

Roy

Interesting question r.e. year-end covering.

Why not? I know little about tax law and even less about short-selling, but it seems logical that shorts might use the opportunity to mitigate their losses. Anyone know if this is allowed?
