I think everyone is too busy arguing to search the news. IBM's $599 computer is going to blow the lid off the "Under $1K" computer business, creating paper thin margins for everyone except those who are also in the high-end. Kiss Packard-Bell, Acer, and other 2nd tier mfgrs. good-bye.

IBM's blessing of the Cyrix microprocessor is also going to stir up the industry, especially AMD and Intel. Cyrix now has instant respect & credibility. Look for lower earnings for AMD, Intel and almost all box-makers. Think about it, before long, the only money to be made in the PC arena will be in software. That's where I'm going. This news will make for explosive Christmas computer sales. They'll all need software!
