Manpower To Outsource W-2 Reissue Process to TALX

TALX Solution to Alleviate Administrative Burden for Employers During Tax Season

ST. LOUIS, Mo.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 16, 1998--Manpower, Inc. selected TALX Corp.'s (NASDAQ:TALX - news) OutSourced Services Division to automate its W-2 reissue process for the 1999 tax season.

As the world's largest staffing and employment service, Manpower expects to issue 800,000 W-2 forms to its employees next year, and as many as 40,000 of these may need to be reissued. Using an automated solution from TALX, Manpower's employees will be able to request a second W-2 form by calling a toll-free phone number, and alleviating the need for Manpower to process these reissue requests manually.

Last year Manpower reissued approximately 35,000 W-2 forms. ''We needed to have a more efficient and cost-effective solution,'' commented Mark Horne, director of payroll services, Manpower. ''We're confident that the TALX solution will provide a high level of employee satisfaction as well as free up our internal resources to focus on core business processes,'' he said.

For large employers, the manual W-2 reissue process is an administrative burden, is time consuming, and can require the use of scarce company resources. Automated W2 Reissue is one of the application modules available as part of TALX's Employee Central service offering. Employee Central is a collection of more than 30 employee self-service applications that automate processes within the human resources, benefits and payroll sectors.

''Eligible Manpower employees can request a W-2 form by calling a toll-free telephone line 24 hours a day, seven days a week,'' commented Brett McIntyre, director of client management TALX. ''Clients may also automate W-2 reissue with both Web and telephone access to the solution,'' he added.

Employee Central solutions can be delivered on an outsourcing basis. In this way, TALX develops the software to the client's specifications and manages the system that resides within the TALX OutSourced Services Data Center. Clients can also choose to purchase a solution which TALX installs at the client's location.

How the OutSourced W2 Reissue Solution Works

The TALX solution designed for Manpower allows their employees to call a toll-free number from any touch-tone telephone, enter a PIN, and begin a dialog with the Interactive Voice Response (IVR) system. If the mailing data is incorrect, callers can transfer to a customer service representative to provide the correct address information and request a new W-2 be sent to them.
