IBM's 'cheap' stuff. Stock bull: Don't forget to add the price of the monitor and printer,probably close to $1000.00 by the time you add these two. I don't see any great advantage except may be in the processor speed.Also I don't know how much a strip down version of a 300 MHZ (processor from AMD) PC will cost from other vendors.

Stock Bull, think about this: If you're an IS manager, and you have to buy 500 PC's, would you buy Intel or an AMD clone? Your department depends on this stuff, what if they don't work, what will the company do with you? Are you getting a feel for this? MW

re IBM and low cost PC So its 333 MHZ, which still makes me wonder, was the DELL announcement wrong, what was that about 100 MHZ? I dont know what to think yet, I was very worried when COMPAQ, which has a fine name among non DELLite computer users came out with under $1000 PCs. But it didnt hurt DELL. So, although at first glance IBM getting into the low priced market doesnt thrill me, I wonder if it will hurt DELL either? Frankly I dont think so. (Dell machines appeal to a more sophisticated user who does not want cheap products.) But there is no way to be sure. Freeus
