Datek sucks. A few days ago I couldn't get a quote on datek. It even gave me the wrong quotes on several stocks that could have cost me 1000's. This morning when the market surgged I couldn't place a order to sell. This cost me about $1000. Datek is one of the best when it works. However, it is getting to the point where Datek breaks more often then it works.

I have another account with Fidelity. They are the most reliable broker I know of. There web site sucks but their Fox software is ok for trading.

And here's one reason why: No availables at Datek per Oct 30 1998.

VINF,SRCM,KTEL,CCSI,ZONA,AMZN,INKT,COOL,GBUR,HEPH,ALTIF,TERA,ENMD,NETG,DTLN,WFR,HEB

Just paste it in Real-Time Quotes - Stock symbols and see.

This is explanation enough why my personal trade count declined recently. These are all no-pennies, ie plenty over five. So the Non marginable sign is even more confusing.
