RE:What in the world is going on with this stock?

Someone realized the world will still need chips, even the lowly ones National makes.

A combination of at least these four factors:

1. the world economies are not going to collapse,
2. the semiconductor industry is bottoming,
3. NSM is a turnaround play without Cyrix, and
4. with Cyrix NSM is in the next hot area - PCOAC.

If your thinking of buying in here, consider that the
market is extremely overbought and that the mutual funds
are conducting end-of-month window dressing. It's a tough
call, but you would probably get a better price in
November.

The latest good news seems to be that the $599 Aptiva will have a Cyrix processor. (Sorry if you guys already knew this). I predicted this move on a TA basis but thought it would stop at about $10.50. Bought at $8.375. I am surprised how the stock is just ploughing on through. It hasn't performed this well for more than a year in terms of a steady advance through what I would have thought was resistance. I now have a signal that the stock is peaking but maybe it's a false signal :)
