MicroStrategy Reports 83% Revenue Growth for Third Quarter October 29, 1998 04:07 PM VIENNA, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 29, 1998-- Net Income Increased Almost 300% Versus Corresponding Quarter Last Year MicroStrategy Incorporated (MSTR), a leading worldwide provider of mission-critical decision support systems, today announced revenues of $27.0 million for the third quarter ended September 30, 1998. This represents an 83% increase over the corresponding quarter the previous year. Net income for the quarter was $1.9 million, or $0.05 per share on a diluted basis, representing a 297% increase over the corresponding quarter last year. Revenues for the nine months ending September 30, 1998 were $70.7 million, representing an 103% increase over the corresponding period a year ago. Net income for the current nine-month period was $3.4 million, or $0.09 per share on a diluted basis, versus a loss of $0.4 million for the same period a year ago. DSS Broadcaster unleashes the value of data warehouse investments with active decision support: the ability to deliver personalized business analyses on a need-to-know basis. In conjunction with this announcement, MicroStrategy successfully completed a 35-city seminar series with IBM entitled "The Active Data Warehouse." -- MicroStrategy announced updated versions of both DSS Web(tm) and DSS Agent(tm), enhancing the most advanced suite of products for the development and deployment of large-scale decision support and e-business applications. -- MicroStrategy won several industry awards during the third quarter ended September 30, 1998.
