Yes, cutting off one's appendages for the woman of one's dreams does seem just a trifle excessive, does it not? I mean some men...flowers...some men...theater tickets...but amputation? A tad over the top. I'm trying to think if there's any woman in my past I might have considered that for....hmmm. Nary a one I think. Is there any indication in the film (or dream, as the case may be) as to what led the gentleman to this seemingly erroneous conclusion?
