Hey Doc, welcome back! Hope you had a great trip. Didn't miss much...same old soap opera as you can probably tell from the stock price.

I think Cardoso delivered a plan that does what was promised... pretty much as expected. I have always felt Cardoso was serious. Although he probably could have started kicking these SS reforms earlier than he did and got them through before the elections, the fact seems to be that some of these lawmakers had no idea how bad things were. If you remember, back in April many were talking like the Asia crisis was behind us. Hell, look at the way the DOW rallied. You probably haven't had a chance to catch up on the news but the concern now is whether or not he can get the plan approved by Congress before the end of the year. Pretty realistic concern IMO, but I think he'll do it. I think the IMF and other lending source are waiting for another couple weeks to see how serious Congress is. If they step up to the plate and show their intentions are sound, then I think they'll have some very strong forces backing them up. Course could be my big 'ole loss position speaking there.

Welcome back Doc. Hey, need a temporary to fill in for you at the office when you're away? You can trust me doc.
