Imagine what I feel like when I get home and boot up my P-100! Warp drive to slow motion! (Actually, upgraded the dirt cheap RAM made it tolerable for now, for surfing SI anyway!) The work PC budget is a different story.

KEMBLE & THREAD: I saw a beautiful thing today when I was out at lunch, driving through downtown Houston (Compaq's hometown). As I was leaving my bank, I saw a UPS truck outside of one of the larger skyscrapers (ostensibly the home of a large corporation). It wasn't the UPS truck that I noticed first, though. It was the boxes with the big blue "E"s turned up at 45 degrees on their sides, that were on the cart outside of the truck. There were four sets of two boxes (and for anyone that's bought a Dell, they know that it comes in two boxes- one for the PC and the other for the monitor.) Now that's still not (necessarily) the beautiful thing. The beautiful thing is that as I drove by the truck, I looked in the back, and could see nothing in the truck other than boxes with big blue "E"s on them. The truck was full of them.
