Count how many things in this came true and how many didn't. I bet more didn't than did.

Bill,

It's not "blanket permission to exploit (or export)"—the key word is explore.

Ah yes, these small distinctions. I suppose if someone tries hard enough to pretend that English is not his first language, he might conceivably miss them. Occupational hazard.

Some fascinating quotes from the profile Zonkie cited:

AZNT's sweetener division will be fully operational in the first quarter of 1998. Estimated sales for the first year alone will be over $50 million...

125 products have been selected for introduction to specifically targeted health-conscious consumers who have shown repeated purchase and usage of these type of supplements, with projected first quarter (1998) sales of $2.7 million from a direct mail marketing campaign...

AZNT anticipates being a full NASDAQ company before the end of 1998...

Projected Revenues and Earnings:

Year Revenue Earnings
1998 75 50

I can conclude that either somebody had a very rich fantasy life or that whoever put those projections together expected to be (and probably is) way out of the stock before the year ended and an actual accounting had to be made.

So, AZNT lovers, do the projections stand, or have they been revised downwards? If they've been revised, for what reason? The Asian Crisis? How much will the company actually earn in 1998?

I expect they'll have to do a heavy 2 months work to make $50M. Maybe they'll dispose of a cache of gemstones.
